Why You Should Focus on the No

Why you should set your goals around the noes instead of the yeses.

Today I want to talk about the word ‘no.’ I’ve had several conversations recently around this word and how it can stop us in our tracks by causing anxiety and fear.

I recommend you read this amazing book called “Go for No!” by Andrea Waltz and Richard Fenton. It will change your thinking around the word ‘no.’

Let’s say I have a goal of meeting six appointments today. Most people would work toward that goal, meet it, and stop. What if you didn’t? What if instead of setting a goal around how many yeses you get, you worked toward a certain number of noes?

If you set a goal that focuses on the noes, you learn from them. You embrace them and get so much better at your conversations as a result. If ‘yes’ is the destination, ‘no’ is how we get there. Start setting your goals around the noes and see what happens. If you have any questions, feel free to call or email me. I would love to help.
